Dr. Cartzendafner was born and raised in Westminster, Maryland. He has always loved animals but it wasn’t until he started volunteering at his local veterinary hospital, while in high school, that he became passionate about becoming a vet.

A fun fact about Dr. Cartzendafner is that this is his second career. After college he worked as a molecular biologist for 20 years! He graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College in 2022.

His favorite aspects of veterinary medicine include preventive medicine, surgery and ophthalmology.

When he’s not working Dr Cartzendafner enjoys camping, boating, traveling, cruising, hiking, going to the beach and spending time with his husband and their dog Duke and two cats Layla and Jewel. He also loves aquariums and hopes to set up a salt water reef tank in the near future.
