Harvey Partridge, DVM, Founder, 1946-2019
Dr. Harvey Partridge founded Partridge Animal Hospital in 2005. Raised in the small town of Mount Dora, Florida, amidst farms, ranches, and orange groves, he knew from a very young age that he wanted to be a veterinarian.
His dream came true in 1974 when he graduated with his DVM from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Four years later, he started his first veterinary practice, Riviera Animal Hospital. Prior to that, he worked as a ranch manager and studied at the University of Florida’s College of Agriculture, where he earned a B.S. in Animal Science.
Dr. Partridge was an active and passionate participant in the veterinary community and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association.
A devoted family man, Dr. Partridge married his childhood sweetheart, Patricia, in 1967. They had two sons – Matthew and David – and were blessed with two grandsons, Ethan and Shane. Both Dr. Partridge and Patricia died in a tragic plane crash on October 20, 2019.
Dr. Partridge gave our hospital more than just its name. Hardworking, compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient, he made our team a family and our clinic a home away from home for countless animals and their owners. He will be greatly missed.
