Dr. David Landers grew up in Franklin, Tennessee and was introduced to the world of veterinary medicine at the age of 13. “Our family veterinarian gave me a summer job as a kennel helper, and it opened up a new world of veterinary medicine and surgery to me,” he recalls.
Dr. Landers attended Auburn University for both his undergraduate and veterinary medicine degrees. He first earned a B.S. in Animal Sciences in 1989 and went on to graduate with his DVM in 1993. Today, he has professional interests in orthopedic surgery, ultrasound and stem cell therapy. Dr. Landers is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Landers also holds certificates in Ultrasound, Stem Cell Therapy and Tibia Tuberosity Advancement surgery, surgery for ACL injuries.
He and his family have a golden retriever named Abby who is the clinic’s official greeter, another playfully/naughty golden retriever named Merida, a rescued Bengal cat named Nala, a snowshoe cat named Midori (green in Japanese for her green eyes), and a three-legged rescue feline named Fergus. Dr. Landers is married to Sherri, who is a commercial pilot. They are parents to Grace, who is attending Auburn University as a pre-vet major. When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Landers enjoys photography, karate, and competitive shooting. His wildlife photography can be seen on the walls of Partridge Animal Hospital.
